Amy Simone's Been Writing Again?

What started on a dare in elementary school led to my crafting stories about all my classmates. That’s where the fiction started. Then I went on to journalism grad school and wrote for several newspapers and magazines for three decades.

My philosophy about life was to experience as many different jobs as possible to fuel my writing. As a result, I held jobs that required me to work in hospitals, offices, as a delivery person, licensed detective’s operative, caterer, restaurant cook, cleaner, horse trainer and riding instructor, photographer, theatre promoter, veterinarian’s assistant, carpenter’s helper, food and cocktail waitress, newspaper distributor, and horse show manager. All the while I observed people from all walks of life.

I’m originally from New Orleans and returned to Louisiana to retire and write novels.

Nowadays, after settling in Lafayette, I ride my dressage horse, nicknamed The Crusader. My husband and I drink copious amounts of coffee just to cope with Cleo who is our grey tabby cat. She makes multiple demands every day. No, scratch that–it is more like she “commands” us and directs traffic about our house.

My favorite type of story is one that features a woman who has to overcome odds of some sort–in any genre. So far I’ve got ten books on the boards spanning fantasy, romance and mystery genres. Animals are frequently featured in all my books. Sometimes they serve as guides as well as faithful companions. And I promise you this– nothing bad will ever happen to an animal in any of my books yet the humans may suffer their just fates! I’ve always loved a good villain, don’t you?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy my books as I lead you down some wickedly twisty paths that always end with the heroine coming out on top.

Amy Simone’s fantasy titles include Portals, Cat Fight Portals, and (upcoming) Facebook Hell. Her Acadiana Romance series includes: Something’s Cooking Down South, Measure for Measure, You Never Told Me, Widower’s Ride. There is also a stand-alone Bows for Julie and a novella Stirring the Pot.  She also has a mystery series called The Dressage Queen’s Guide to Murder.
